Generative engine optimization (GEO)

Generative engine optimization is the practice of making a page usable as source material for an AI answer. Instead of optimising for a click on a blue link, you optimise for the sentence a model can lift and attribute.

Answer-shaped sections

Give each buying question its own heading and answer it in the first two sentences below it. Models extract passages, not pages; a heading that matches the question makes the passage easy to locate and safe to quote.

Facts a model can verify

Identifiers (EAN, MPN), measured values with units, compatibility, and box contents carry far more weight than adjectives. Where a claim is unverifiable, leave it out — a hallucination risk in your own copy costs you citations.

Structured data and consistency

Product, FAQ and breadcrumb schema restate the same facts in machine-readable form. Keep the schema, the visible page and the datasheet consistent; contradictions make a source look unreliable.

Frequently asked

Is GEO different from writing for people?
It overlaps almost entirely. Clear headings, direct answers and verifiable facts help a shopper as much as a model.
